Audi 80 convertible 5 cylinder injection engine, with the galvanized and rust-free body. In 1986 Audi introduced the third generation 80 with internal factory code typ89. As a special feature, the typ89 has a very low CW value of no less than 0.29. The total front surface of the typ89 was only 1.91 square meters. One of the ways to keep the air resistance low was the relatively flat windscreen, something that was still unique in this class in the mid-80s. The technology came from the previous generation B2. For example, the engine was again positioned lengthwise and drove the front wheels. The Quattro system was also available as an option with the heavier engines. The typ89 was available with three different gearboxes, the four-speed, the five-speed and the three-speed automatic. The typ89 was one of the firs... t cars to have a fully zinc galvanised body, which completely eliminated rust - an important selling point at a time when rust ended the life of many cars prematurely. Audi therefore gave a 10-year guarantee against rusting through from the inside (later a 12-year guarantee). The model turned out to be a hit and sales went very well. The example offered here was delivered new in 1994 and was very completely equipped. The overall condition is remarkably good, it was clearly in the hands of enthusiasts. Both the interior and exterior are in a neat condition! Technically, maintenance was also consistently carried out and the services are stamped. Technically, therefore, a fantastic driving young timer suitable for long journeys or daily use. For tall people, the Audi 80 offers a remarkably good seat and plenty of space.
